A video recently surfaced on Twitter showing Peter Obi in an interview making bold claims that the government is targeting him and that he may not survive until the 2027 elections. He also alleged harassment at the airport for parking improperly while other cars were overlooked, and complained that people now fear associating with him.
Let’s examine these claims one by one.
First, the airport incident. Mr. Obi was captured on video a few weeks ago calmly stepping out of his vehicle to mediate a parking dispute between two men at the airport. So “harassment” now means being held accountable for parking improperly? This is classic victimhood theatre. The law applies to every Nigerian, regardless of political ambitions. You want special treatment just because you’re a mere presidential candidate of a party that is struggling to stand on its own.
And the NDC party? It was only recently ratified as a platform. A party that zoned its ticket to the South just to accommodate you. That’s not a movement built on vision; it’s a shortcut to power.
Now he’s crying wolf with claims, that the President is targeting him. Reasonable Nigerians, know that President Tinubu is busy tackling insecurity, fixing infrastructure, and redirecting recovered assets into education, 1.4 million students are already benefiting from NELFUND. He has no time to plot against Peter Obi.
The hypocrisy is to seek for public sympathy over failures to be unaccountable is staggering.
As for people not wanting to relate with him, maybe, just maybe, Nigerians are tired of the drama. Tired of the compulsive lying, the constant victimhood, the refusal to take responsibility for your failures. When Peter Obi finally loses in 2027, who else will he blame? President Tinubu again? For a candidate that lacks accountability and clear vision.
He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. Peter Obi’s showing that his hands are dirty from all the lies, the victimhood, and the refusal to take responsibility. Someone needs to tell him, go Stop acting like a baby crying for attention.
Nigerians’ welfare is the priority of the government.
