President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear demonstration of the people’s confidence in his leadership and a strong assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
President Tinubu disclosed that he personally called Governor Adeleke on Sunday to congratulate him on his electoral victory.
He urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State and work toward the state’s growth, stability, and social and economic progress, irrespective of how citizens voted during the election.
The President also commended other contestants for the courage and discipline they demonstrated throughout the electoral process, noting that their participation further strengthened Nigeria’s democratic culture.
According to him, the outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and reinforces confidence in the country’s democratic process.
President Tinubu further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He wished Governor Adeleke success as he prepares to lead Osun State for another four years.
The statement was signed by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, on August 16, 2026.
