The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 17 chairmanship positions and 260 councillorship seats in the Enugu State Local Government elections held on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
The Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC), led by Chairman Prof. Christian Ngwu, declared the results on Sunday at the commission’s headquarters in Enugu. Ngwu confirmed that APC candidates won all chairmanship and councillorship contests, securing every one of the state’s 260 electoral wards.
The chairmen-elect include Ugochukwu Nwanjoku (Aninri), Okolo Uchenna Joseph (Awgu), Beloved Dan Anike (Enugu East), Onoh Ibenaku (Enugu North), Caleb Ani (Enugu South), Vitalis Chinedu Ngwu (Ezeagu), Martin Amadieze (Igbo Etiti), Chris Onyekachi Simon (Igbo Eze North), Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze (Igbo Eze South), Ani Brendan Emeka (Isi-Uzo), Mike Ogbuekwe (Nkanu East), John Ogbodo (Nkanu West), Jude Chinedu Asogwa (Nsukka), Anyaegbudike Greg (Oji River), Ezeoha Innocent (Udenu), Agu Hyginus (Udi), and Ezeukwu Chijioke (Uzo-Uwani).
Ngwu described the election as free and fair, commending security agencies, civil society organisations, and the media for their roles in the peaceful process. He urged the winners to view their victories as a call to service and presented certificates of return to all 17 chairmen.
