The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has expressed unflinching support for President Bola Tinubu in his efforts to reposition Nigeria as the giant of Africa.
During a private visit to Lagos, President Umaro Sissoco Embalo of Guinea-Bissau, Chairman of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government conveyed ECOWAS’ admiration for Tinubu’s economic strides, emphasizing their far-reaching impact throughout West Africa.
Following the visit, Mr. Dele Alake, Special Adviser for Special Duties, Communications, and Strategy to the President, addressed the media, stating that the encounter was a private meeting between two African presidents.
He said the meeting was characterized by warmth and cordiality.
Alake revealed that President Embalo expressed deep appreciation for President Tinubu’s recent policies, acknowledging their global commendation.
Embalo further pledged unwavering cooperation with Nigeria and President Tinubu, highlighting their forthcoming ECOWAS head of government meeting and exploring opportunities for enhanced collaboration.
The meeting, attended by Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other dignitaries, lasted over three hours.
The Guinea-Bissau leader bade farewell after the propitious engagement, leaving an atmosphere of shared commitment and solidarity.
