President Bola Tinubu has charged the newly appointed Service Chiefs, the National Security Adviser (NSA), and the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) to collaborate effectively and fulfill the given mandate.
This comes as the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, assures the President and the entire nation that the security agencies will successfully secure the country and restore peace and stability.
At the Presidential Villa in Abuja, President Tinubu held his inaugural meeting with the NSA, Service Chiefs, and acting IGP behind closed doors.
Following the meeting, Mallam Ribadu, addressing State House correspondents, stated that the President emphasized the importance of teamwork and urged them to deliver on their responsibilities.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation and President Tinubu’s government, Mallam Ribadu stated, “We believe the choice he made is the right one, the correct one, and we know what he wants for this country. We’re going to work tirelessly to ensure that we accomplish the objective of securing our country, establishing peace, stability, and let’s get our lives back.”
Mallam Ribadu affirmed President Tinubu’s wholehearted support, sharing, “He told us that we must work as a team and that there’s work to be done. He’ll expect us to deliver, and we’re grateful for the opportunity.”
When asked about the starting point for the new security heads, Mallam Ribadu spoke optimistically, saying, “Where we are today, and you can see already things are improving in our country. If you see the record of crimes and activities of criminals are going down, it will continue to go down. We’ll secure this place.”
He reassured Nigerians that the appointed individuals are among the best and will not disappoint, affirming their commitment to delivering results.
