Award-winning singer, Tiwa Savage, has shared details of her experience performing at the historical coronation ceremony of the British monarch, King Charles III. Revealing that nerves initially threatened to disrupt her performance, Tiwa Savage became the first Nigerian artist to grace a British royal event, leaving guests enthralled at the coronation concert and Big Lunch held in March.
During her recent appearance on the Good Morning Britain TV Show, Tiwa Savage admitted feeling nervous in the first few seconds of her performance at Windsor Castle. However, she quickly regained her composure and mesmerized the audience with her musical talent.
Reflecting on the momentous occasion, Tiwa Savage expressed, It was beautiful [to perform for the King. It was such an amazing moment to represent the Commonwealth and to be on that stage.
Despite her initial jitters, she embraced the crowd’s energy and let herself be carried away by the experience.
Tiwa Savage also shared kind words about meeting the British Queen Consort, Camilla, describing her as “very lovely” during the show. The talented artist had the opportunity to meet the Queen Consort before her historic performance at the coronation ceremony.
Tiwa Savage’s choice of song for the performance was “Keys to the Kingdom,” which received both praise and criticism from some of her fans. Some wondered why she didn’t perform a different song.
