President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been widely commended for listening to the views of Nigeria as regards the proposed N8,000 cash transfer to indigent Nigerians to ameliorate the hardship caused by the removal of the fuel subsidy.
In a statement signed by Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President, Special Duties, Communications and Strategy, Tinubu ordered that the N8,000 conditional cash transfer programme envisaged to bring succour to most vulnerable households be reviewed immediately.
The President also announced that the imminent unveiling of the whole spectrum of palliative package to alleviate the present sufferings of Nigeria occasioned by the “painful” but “necessary” fuel subsidy removal.
Taking to social media to react to the development, some Nigerians praised Tinubu for the move while being impressed with the President’s priority of Nigerians and their needs.
