The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has faulted the failure of the Labour Party to present figures to support its claim that it won the election or that the announced winner, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, did not secure the most number of votes as the party alleged in the petition it submitted to the court.
The Tribunal maintained that dispute on who won an election ought to be based on figures, not generic statements and bogus claims not supported by facts. It made the statement while reading its verdict on the Labour Party’s petition, having already dismissed that of the APM for lacking merit.
