Following the dissolution of the Boards and Management of Union Bank, Keystone Bank and Polaris Bank on Wednesday, January 10, the CBN has appointed new executives to oversee the affairs of the banks.
Yetunde Oni has been appointed as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer for Union Bank while Mannir Ubali Ringim is to serve as the bank’s Executive Director.
For Keystone Bank, the CBN named Hassan Imam as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer with Chioma A. Mang serving as the Executive Director.
Polaris Bank has Lawal Mudathir Omokayode Akintola as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer while Chris Onyeka Ofikulu is going to serve as the bank’s Executive Director.
The CBN however did not disclose any appointments for Titan Trust bank, one of the banks it dissolved the boards and management alongside Union Bank, Keystone bank and Polaris bank.
According to a statement issued by the Acting Director of Corporate Communications of the apex bank, Mrs. Sidi Ali Hakama, all the appointments take immediate effect.
It would be recalled that CBN on Wednesday in exercise of its regulatory powers dissolved the boards and management of four banks namely Titan Trust, Union, Keystone and Polaris banks. The dissolution is part of the fallout of the implementation of the report of the Special Investigator on the CBN and related entities, Jim Obazee.
