On Sunday evening, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a minor traffic accident along the Daura-Katsina road. Though initially taken for medical observation, the governor has since been discharged and is reportedly in good health, as confirmed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.
Bashir Ahmed, a former presidential media aide, corroborated this information citing sources from the Katsina Local Government chairmanship. The governor sustained no physical harm serious enough to restrict his activities.
In an emotional video released shortly after, the governor thanked the public for their prayers and support: “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. Dear brothers and sisters of Katsina State and beyond, we are deeply grateful for all your prayers and concern. By the will of Allah, we were tested with a car accident—but Alhamdulillah, we came out safe and unharmed.”
The incident apparently will not affect the governor’s engagement with ongoing governmental duties.
