Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has come under intense criticism following his participation in a recent X Space (formerly Twitter Space), with accusations of prioritizing former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s interests over the party’s agenda.
The controversy erupted from a viral post by X user Son Of Ayo, whose handle is @TheAjakeManger. Described in his bio as a traveler, farm boy, community developer, and data analyst, the user expressed outrage after listening to the space, which he claimed was hosted by Abdullahi and “Atiku minions.”
“I just listened to that space by @BolajiADC and Atiku minions and I want to say fuvk you Bolaji,” the post began. It continued with a series of profane rebukes: “Fuck you for sounding like an idiot on a space that is supposed to be focused on selling the Adc. Fuck you for not knowing that your job as an publicity secretary is to hold all parts together. Fuck you for sounding as an Atiku spokesperson instead of ADC publicity secretary. Fuck you Dishonourable Bolaji.”
The post, which garnered over 950 likes, 380 reposts, and thousands of views within hours, included an edited image of Abdullahi—a smiling portrait in traditional Nigerian attire with a blue patterned cap—overlaid with a red stamp reading “Dishonourable.”
Abdullahi, a seasoned politician and journalist from Ilorin, Kwara State, born on August 12, 1969, previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Youth Development and Minister of Sports. He was appointed as the ADC’s interim National Publicity Secretary in July 2025, replacing Mabel Oboh.
The criticism ties into broader tensions within the ADC as it prepares for the 2027 presidential elections.
