Apostle Arome Osayi has declared that Nigeria’s destiny transcends its economic and political difficulties, maintaining that the nation carries a divine mandate to ignite revival and carry the gospel to other lands. He spoke during a sermon.
According to him, Nigerians should stop measuring themselves against nations like China by highlighting only China’s manufacturing feats while dismissing Nigeria’s spiritual activities as mere praying. He argued that every nation has its own calling.
“Our calling as a nation is revival. God wants to generate something from here that He will export to the nations of the world. This is His covenant with this nation,” Osayi said.
He claimed that Nigeria’s early Christian leaders prayed and sought God’s purpose for the country, resulting in what he called a revelation that Nigeria would supply missionary manpower to advance the gospel globally. “We are a key player, we are a stakeholder in end time matters,” he said.
Osayi linked some of Nigeria’s hardships to spiritual opposition. He said many Nigerians are too preoccupied with the naira and political power to see what he described as the nation’s larger spiritual assignment. “We are not seeing beyond the Naira, we are not seeing beyond Aso Rock,” he said, urging Nigerians to grasp the importance of the present times.
He maintained that Nigeria’s role in global Christianity should not be downplayed, even as the country faces economic and security challenges.
Addressing ministers, he said their current tasks may be training for greater responsibilities. “He is using the ground to mature you so that He can send you to the place where you will manifest the strength of your sceptre,” he said.
He ended with a call for resolve, asking his audience to declare, “We will not retreat! We will not surrender!”
