President Bola Tinubu will on Thursday depart Abuja for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the lesser Hajj, known as Umrah, and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity and stability.
The President’s trip was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the visit will provide Tinubu an opportunity to seek divine intervention for the country’s continued progress.
“While in Makkah, President Tinubu will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people,” the statement said.
Before departing Abuja, the President is expected to commission some equipment acquired by the Nigerian Air Force for its operations.
The commissioning will take place at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
PBAT is expected to return to the country next week after completing the religious exercise.
