Ahead of the celebration of the 62nd independence anniversary of Nigeria, the Federal Government has released the schedule of activities for the celebration.
The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, revealed the activities yesterday during a press conference in Abuja.
The minister said there will be a church service at the National Christian Centre, Business District on Sunday, September 25.
He added that Special Juma’at prayers will hold on Friday, September 30, at the National mosque with Presidential Broadcast on October 1st .
He said, “There will be a church service on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the National Christian Centre, Central Business District, Abuja at 3pm. This will be followed by a public lecture focused on national unity on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at the State House Conference Hall at 10am.
“On Friday, September 30, 2022, there will be Special Juma’at prayers at the National Mosque, Central Business District, in Abuja. On Saturday, October 1, 2022, a presidential broadcast will be at 7 am. Later on the same day, there will be a military parade at Eagles Square, Central Business District, Abuja, starting at 10am.
“Award of national honours will be held as part of the 62nd independence anniversary on October 11, 2022, in Abuja. The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs will give the full details later.”
He described the celebration of the independence as an evidence of the country’s resilience and commitment to unity in spite of challenges thrown against that.
