The Minister of Information and culture, Lai Mohammed, in a press conference on Thursday in Abuja said that Atiku’s blueprint for the Nigerian economy is a poor copy compared to Buhari’s.
One of Atiku’s plans for infrastructure was cited when he said that increasing infrastructure and reducing infrastructure deficits will improve the economy’s capacity thereby, promoting growth and wealth creation.
This allegation, according to Lai, is highly inaccurate as the current Buhari administration is next to none in terms of infrastructure.
Lai Mohammed had more to say making reference to Buhari’s administration that has broken the jinx in infrastructure financing implementing innovative schemes such as the Presidential Infrastructure Development Fund used to finance the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Second Niger Bridge, the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road, and the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme.
Lai described the comments of Atiku as mere rumours tactical to cause worry in the hearts of the citizens as in fact, the worst jinx ever experienced in Nigeria ensued during the PDP administration from 1999-2015.
Facts were stated clearly recalling of how through the current administration, the economy recovered from two recessions within 5 years in 2016 and 2020.
