President Bola Tinubu has officially declared an end to his displeasure with Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, stating that “all his sins” are forgiven. The President’s announcement came following a heartfelt appeal by the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who met with Tinubu this afternoon to intercede on the Governor’s behalf.
Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, Chairman of the GAC, greeted the President warmly upon his arrival in Lagos and acknowledged the tension that had been apparent between the President and some state officials, particularly Governor Sanwo-Olu. Olusi’s appeal was for clemency and reconciliation, highlighting the need to move past grievances for the greater good of Lagos State.
Sources close to the meeting revealed that President Tinubu responded with a message of peace: “It’s all over now. All is forgiven.” He assured the attendees that he no longer bore any anger towards anyone, including Sanwo-Olu.
In a display of humility and respect, Governor Sanwo-Olu and other GAC members prostrated before the President, signaling their remorse and commitment to unity. The meeting was notably free of any demands for explanations or recounting of past conflicts, focusing solely on forgiveness.
This development signals a hopeful new chapter in the relationship between the Lagos State government and the federal administration.
