In the newest FIFA World Rankings released this Thursday, Nigeria’s Super Eagles have slipped one place to 44th, despite a slight increase in their points tally to 1484.26. The team’s recent international outings, which included two draws and a win, contributed to a 2.91-point gain but were insufficient to maintain their previous rank of 43rd.
Paraguay now occupies the 43rd position, narrowly ahead of Nigeria, while Côte d’Ivoire fell four places to 45th after a series of poor results, holding 1483.45 points.
At the top of the global rankings, Argentina remains number one, although they lost 0.8 points. Spain surged to second place with a 12.45-point gain, pushing France to third. England and Brazil complete the top five positions.
Portugal and the Netherlands each climbed one rank, now 6th and 7th respectively, with Portugal achieving the highest points gain in the top ten (+20.45). Germany dropped one place to 9th, maintaining their points, while Italy slid two places to 11th after losing 15.73 points.
Mexico recorded the largest jump within the top 20, moving up four spots to 13th with a substantial 42.79-point increase. The United States and Norway also posted significant gains, each adding over 20 points.
At the bottom end, San Marino remains the lowest-ranked team globally at 210th place with 738.24 points.
