Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, days after securing victory in the state’s governorship election.
The governor arrived at the Villa at approximately 5:20 p.m., accompanied by Bamidele Salam, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore and Ejigbo Federal Constituency.
Also present were Senator Lere Oyewumi, Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council; Sunday Bisi, a member of the campaign council; and Akinleye Kazeem, Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor.
The engagement follows Adeleke’s victory in the August 15 governorship poll, where he emerged ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
According to the election results, Adeleke recorded 511,067 votes, while Oyebamiji finished with 444,815 votes.
The governor formally received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday during a ceremony in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
The details of the discussions between President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke were not immediately made public.
