A Non-Governmental Organisation, “League of Peace Ambassadors, Humanity and Human Rights Advocates,” has petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the procurement processes leading to awards of the recent road contracts in Osun State. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Sunday April 14th, announced that it is investigating several celebrities who might have abused the naira. The Central Bank of Nigeria has written to all banks in Nigeria to stop the use of foreign currencies as collateral for naira loans. It disclosed this in a circular uploaded to its website on Monday. The apex bank said it had observed the use of FCY by bank customers as collateral for naira loans and, therefore, prohibits it with immediate effect.
