The Nigerian Correctional Service has sanctioned 34 senior personnel and dismissed nine officers for alleged indiscipline and misconduct.
The Service Public Relations Officer (PRO), Umar Abubakar, said the centre retired 25 others compulsorily for what it called offences that are inimical to standard practices.
He added that four other personnel were issued letters of warning, saying the decision was approved by the Civil Defence, Corrections, Fire and Immigration Board.
He said the service would not relent in taking disciplinary measures against any personnel who does not measure up to the Standard Operating Procedure of the service.
He added that the Controller General Haliru Nababa warned that there would be no room for indolence and acts of indiscipline in the NCoS, he assured the nation that those who performed creditably would be rewarded in line with the rules of engagement of the service.
