Criticisms have continued to come the way of the Labour Party after its party’s National Publicity Secretary, Aboyemi Arabambi revealed that the party’s leadership carries out forgery on even sacred documents like the Court of Appeal Judgment.
Arabambi disclosed this while speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show on Saturday.
He revealed that the party’s leadership forged the signatures of an Appeal Court ruling in order to include names of candidates for the Lagos State National Assembly election, going on to present the list to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
This revelation is coming weeks after PODIUM REPORTERS had reported on how supporters of the party attempted to undermine the credibility of the 2023 elections by doctoring the INEC voters register with the criminal inclusion of photos of underage citizens, mostly from the northern region of the country.
Arabambi stated that he has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and written the Chief Justice of Nigeria about the matter.
He said, “Very soon, police will swoop on the Labour Party headquarters. I have written to the Nigeria Police over it, I have complained to the Chief Justice of Nigeria and I have filed a suit in the Supreme Court over the matter.
“Our party leadership was involved in a forgery of Court of Appeal judgement. I am not going to be a part of that criminal infraction.
“I have written to the police. I don’t want Nigerians to think that it is APC or PDP that sent police to our office. No. It is what our people did.
Reacting to the development, Nigerians on Twitter expressed no surprise at the turn of events in the party, saying there are expecting more revelations of the irregularities in the party in the coming days.
@Harrydaniyan wrote, The closer we get to the D-Day, the more revelations we get.
I’m beginning to think The Other One won’t be on the ballot in February: he’ll probably step down for his “Senior Brother”.
And I think the Campaign DG is aware, hence his early cash out…
@bayoadetunji: They are exposing your thieving brothers inLP and you are crying …you will cry more in Feb 2023
You people have succeeded in running down an otherwise innocuous and decent party
@ehinmilorinolo2: That’s the lie and forgery people Peter Obi and his supporters want to sale to Nigerians, i’m highly disappointed by hearing this.
God will definitely continue to bless Nigeria Amen and Amen.
@gbola_makinde: Blind following. How can divorce candidate from the party maladies? Does a candidate operate or govern without the party input? Stop deceiving yourself. House built on sand can not stand.
