The Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu has urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Card.
Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission had similarly urged people who have registered for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to collect them, saying, “no PVC, no vote.”
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in Katsina State, Ibrahim Yahaya-Makarfi, said the commission will not allow anyone to vote during the 2023 general elections without presenting their PVCs at polling centres.
Sanwo-Olu advised Nigerians when he collected his PVC, reiterating that the PVC will allow them to exercise their franchise.
The Governor of Lagos state who has launched his campaign for second term said that the best way to support greater Lagos is through PVC.
He said, “Today, I collected my PVC so as to be able to exercise my voting rights in the forthcoming elections. Please go and collect your PVCs. The best way to show support for A GreaterLagosRising is with your PVCs.
“As a Lagosian, I have voted in every election since 1993 and I’m happy to be able to do it yet again in 2023. I picked up my PVC at the Sura INEC Office, Lagos Island having done a redesignation of my address and a change of voting location.” he tweeted
INEC had fixed December 12, 2022 to January 22, 2023 as the dates for the collection of the PVCs in all the 774 LGAs.
