The Atlas Lions of Morocco have been ranked the best team in Africa following their impressive outing and exploits at the just concluded 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions set a new record in Qatar becoming the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup.
Morocco finished top of their Group after beating, Portugal, Belgium and Canada and drawing with Croatia.
The Atlas Lions beat Spain in the Round of 16 and also saw off Ronaldo led Portugal in the quarter-finals.
Walid Regragui’s side ended the tournament with a fourth-place finish and lost narrowly to 2018 finalist Croatia in the third-place playoff.
Morocco were ranked 22nd in the World and 2nd in Africa in November, but have now moved 11 places up to 11th in the World after their brilliant performance at the biggest football event in the World.
