The Minister of State for Labour and Productivity and the APC-PCC spokesman, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has told Atiku Abubakar of the PDP to forget inheriting Buhari’s 12-million bloc votes from the northern region as he lacks the president’s integrity and forthrightness.
Keyamo delivered the jab in a tweet where he criticised Atiku’s lazy reliance on a harvest of votes from his region. The spokesman clarified that Buhari’s reliable wall of 12-million votes in the region didn’t form out of mere ethnic connection but due to his consistent show of forthright and integrous actions.
He said, “The problem with Atiku is he thinks Buhari just woke up to get 12 million votes in the kitty from a section of the country because of ethnicity. No. Buhari built a legacy of honesty & forthrightness over the years. Atiku’s legacies are DIRECT OPPOSITES of these. #AtikuIsNotBuhari”
“In the final days to voting, Atiku plans to unleash all manners of religious and tribal sentiments to sway voters in the North. Unfortunately for him, the North has since written him off as an untrustworthy and dishonest person not worthy of their bulk support. #AtikuIsNotBuhari”
Keyamo’s criticism of Atiku’s legacy as a politician may be informed by his total condemnation by his boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who regarded him as the most corrupt Nigerian he ever saw.
More recently, Atiku’s close aides have revealed how the former Vice President fleeced the nation and diverted public funds to private accounts through shell companies known as “SPVs”.
These allegations of corruptions, alongside decade of political ineffectiveness minus an obsession with the presidency, may explain Atiku’s consistent failure to attain the country’s highest office, including an abandonment by his region.
