President Bola Tinubu has signed the N28.7 trillion 2024 Appropriation Bill into law.
The assented to the 2024 Appropriation Bill at a brief ceremony in the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday afternoon shortly after arriving from Lagos.
While signing the Renewed Hope budget into law, President was flanked by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas.
Others at the signing ceremony were Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Abubakar, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; Chairman of the Senate Appropriation Committee, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, among others.
The national assembly had earlier on December 30, 2023 passed the 2024 Appropriation bill. The budget is N1.2 trillion higher than the budget President Bola Ahmed Tinubu laid before the joint session of the national assembly on November 29, 2023.
