The Senior Special Assistant on Protocol to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola, hosted several groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his residence in Osogbo. Ambassador Niniola commended the members for their consistency and unwavering support for the party at all times.
During the gathering, Ambassador Niniola explained in detail the policies and programmes of President Tinubu to the groups. He emphasised that the policies are timely and essential, especially considering the nation’s economy was on the brink of collapse and total destruction.
“The policies and programmes of Mr. President are designed to benefit all Nigerians. Though the decisions are economically necessary and politically risky, President Tinubu, being a courageous leader, is confident the economy will recover from the temporary setback, and we will all reap the benefits,” he said.
He also met with members of the Ajose Movement of Nigeria, a group led by Comrade Adewale Azeez, where they discussed a range of issues, including voter registration and the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). A member of the group highlighted the need for massive mobilisation of party members, new registrants, and young people who have recently turned 18. The group also noted the challenges they face, especially regarding the collection of voter cards.
Ambassador Niniola commended their dedication, particularly their efforts in registering new party members, and assured them that necessary steps would be taken to address their concerns.
The group also appealed to him on the need for party leaders to prioritise their ward, noting that it is one of the largest in the state—larger than some local government areas.
“This is my ward,” the Ambassador said. “The unjust way in which the dividends of democracy have been distributed is one of the reasons I joined politics. I will do everything within my legal rights to protect and fight for your cause.”
Ambassador Niniola welcomed new members from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who had joined the APC, assuring the Ajose Movement of the development and attention their community deserves.
Furthermore, Ambassador Niniola also hosted the Osun Progressives People’s Forum (OPPF). The group discussed strategies for mass mobilisation and recruitment of new members. During the meeting, a motion was moved and seconded to make Ambassador Niniola the patron of the group, which he gladly accepted. He thanked them for the honour and pledged his continued support.
The groups prayed for Ambassador Niniola and President Tinubu, asking for continued strength and God’s favour in all their endeavours.
