President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace love, unity, tolerance, and respect for human life as Muslims celebrate Eid.
In his message, the President expressed gratitude to Allah for preserving the lives of citizens and granting them the opportunity to witness another Eid celebration. He emphasized the importance of reflecting on the lessons of the season by promoting compassion, generosity, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians.
President Tinubu urged citizens to reject all forms of discrimination, ethnic division, and hatred, stressing that Nigerians should relate with one another in ways that reflect the country’s values and shared humanity.
He also called for tolerance and obedience to the will of Allah, while emphasizing the importance of respecting the rule of law as a guiding principle for society.
Speaking on insecurity and violence, the President stated that no holy teaching supports banditry or the killing of innocent people. He noted that the message of sacrifice in Islamic teachings highlights the sanctity of human life, recalling the story in which a child was spared and replaced with an animal for sacrifice.
According to the President, the lesson of Eid is rooted in love, peace, humanity, and the protection of life.
