The X spat between Davido and ex-presidential aide Bashir Ahmad Thursday descended into pure petty warfare, with each man weaponising the other’s biggest failure.
It started when Davido cheered President Tinubu’s call to his uncle, Governor Adeleke, over the EFCC’s account freeze on Osun State. Ahmad quote-tweeted, warning Davido would “lament” if the 15 August governorship election flips.
Davido fired back with surgical cruelty: “U got 16 votes bro in primaries!!” referencing Ahmad’s humiliating defeat in APC primaries. Ahmad pivoted to music: “How many Grammys from five nominations?”.
But Davido wasn’t done. He called Ahmad “a small boy who came into politics by accident,” boasted his “billions of streams” and global pull, then twisted the knife: “8 years in govt, your community still poverty-stricken.”
By Friday morning, the post had 2.3 million views. Neither man conceded. But X users crowned Davido winner – for sheer audacity, if not a Grammy.
