President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered an immediate and coordinated rescue operation following the mass abduction and killing of innocent citizens in Niger State.
The President directed the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and other relevant security and intelligence agencies to work together to rescue all those abducted and bring the perpetrators to justice.
President Tinubu condemned the attack, describing those responsible as “enemies of peace and enemies of humanity” who would not be allowed to escape justice.
He extended his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, assuring them that the Federal Government shares their grief and remains committed to securing the safe return of the abducted victims.
“You are not alone. The entire nation shares your anguish. We will not rest until your sons, daughters, mothers and fathers are brought back safely to you,” the President said.
PBAT also directed the Service Chiefs to provide him with regular updates on the progress of the rescue operation until all the victims are accounted for.
Reaffirming his administration’s resolve to confront insecurity, the President said terrorism would not intimidate Nigeria or weaken the government’s determination to protect citizens and communities.
“Terror will not cow Nigeria. We will defend our people, protect our communities, and uphold the sanctity of human life,” he declared.
The President further assured the people and government of Niger State of the Federal Government’s support, including security reinforcement, relief and recovery assistance.
