Titilope Gbadamosi, Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Youth Initiatives, has charged the 360 young Nigerians selected to represent youths across the country at the 2026 National Youth Conference to see themselves as “solution makers” and active participants in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Gbadamosi gave the charge at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, during a briefing with the press, where the Honourable Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande Wisdom; the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Otega Ogra, were present.
Addressing the delegates, Gbadamosi said the conference presents an opportunity for young Nigerians to contribute practical ideas and solutions to challenges confronting their communities.
“For the 360 young people who will be coming to represent the whole of Nigerian youth at the confab, it is important that we see ourselves as the solution makers. We see ourselves as the ones who will co-create the future,” she said.
According to her, the opportunity provided by President Tinubu should be used meaningfully by the young people participating in the conference.
“We have been given an opportunity by our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and it is important for us to make good use of this opportunity,” Gbadamosi stated.
She noted that although government initiatives have been introduced to address various challenges and benefit citizens, young Nigerians also have ideas that could provide solutions at the grassroots.
“Most times when initiatives of government have been rolled out and people are beneficiaries of this government, some of us still have one or two ideas that we think can work in our local communities,” she said.
Gbadamosi further explained that the youth confab was designed to ensure that consultations extend beyond Abuja to communities across the country.
“The beautiful part of this confab is that we are not just consulting here in Abuja. Like the Honourable Minister has said, we are consulting even at the grassroots,” she said.
She urged the delegates to properly represent the concerns, ideas and aspirations of young people from their respective local government areas and federal constituencies.
“But after that consultation, each and every representative of the local government and the federal constituency are the people who will bring those issues forward. And we hope that you represent your federal constituencies well,” Gbadamosi added.
She emphasised that the delegates’ responsibility goes beyond participation at the conference, urging them to ensure that the issues gathered from their communities are effectively presented during the deliberations.
