President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” and praising her for standing by him through the difficult and defining moments of their journey together.
In a heartfelt birthday message issued on Monday, September 21, 2026, the President said the First Lady had supported him with patience, grace, courage and steadfast faith throughout their years together.
Quoting a Yoruba proverb, “Ìyàwó rere ni adé ọkọ rẹ̀,” which means “a good wife is her husband’s crown,” President Tinubu said Oluremi had given the words practical meaning in his life.
He said she had remained a source of counsel and strength, particularly during difficult periods when the future was uncertain.
“Through all these years, you have remained the one who truly understands me,” the President said, adding that her honesty and willingness to tell him what he needed to hear had always been cherished.
President Tinubu also praised the First Lady for her devotion to their family, noting that their children and grandchildren had grown under the influence of her prayers, faith and values of kindness.
He highlighted her humanitarian activities, recalling her work through the New Era Foundation during their years in Lagos and her current role with the Renewed Hope Initiative.
According to the President, the First Lady’s humanitarian efforts have supported young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers across the country.
He also commended her advocacy for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases, describing her as a compassionate advocate for those in need.
President Tinubu noted that Oluremi’s compassion had transcended ethnic, regional and religious boundaries, saying she had helped people she had never met and prayed for others whose names she might not even know.
Reflecting on their years together, the President said their shared journey had been sustained by difficult conversations, sacrifices, laughter and prayer.
“If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you,” President Tinubu said, adding that his heart had “always remained at home” with her.
He expressed gratitude for the life they had built together and prayed that God Almighty would grant the First Lady many more years in good health and joy.
“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi,” the President wrote. “May the years ahead bring you the same comfort and happiness you have so freely given to me and many others.”
