A businessman and his company have petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over an alleged $2.1 million land fraud.
Safwan Garba and GY Global Oil & Gas Nigeria Limited, through their lawyer Hamza Dantani, filed the petition dated December 11, 2025, accusing Jordan of fraud, obtaining by false pretences, criminal misappropriation and conversion . The petitioners allege Jordan claimed he had his father’s knowledge and approval to facilitate the allocation of 60 hectares of land in Abuja.
According to the petition, the claimants’ representative met Jordan in London, where they developed a rapport. After returning to Nigeria, Jordan allegedly promised to secure 30 hectares each in Katampe and Guzape, insisting he routinely facilitated such allocations with his father’s backing . To reinforce his claims, Jordan reportedly placed a telephone call to his father in the claimant’s presence.
Jordan allegedly demanded and received $2 million as a fee to deliver to his father to facilitate the allocation, plus a further $100,000 as his personal facilitation fee . The sums were allegedly paid in cash in the presence of two witnesses, Adamu Sani and Aliyu Sarki, with Jordan accompanied by one Onor Sandy . He promised delivery within a month but allegedly failed and became incommunicado; the UK phone number he provided is no longer reachable.
The petitioners cited Section 1(1) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act and asked the EFCC to investigate, arrest and prosecute Jordan if criminal liability is established . Counsel Ibrahim Waru said the EFCC acknowledged receipt but had yet to act.
Jordan has denied the allegations, telling the FCT High Court that his signature on the land document was forged and that he was out of the country on the date the claimants say he received the money . Justice Silvanus Oriji fixed December 1 for continuation of the civil suit, marked CV/008/2026 .
