A report circulating ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s campaign visit to Kaduna has alleged that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is planning a “Bọ́lẹ̀kája” scheme; reportedly recycling old video footage to manufacture a fake booing incident against the President tomorrow. The claim, which sources from the ADC leaked to Podium Reporters, suggests the opposition party intends to pass off stale clips as fresh reactions from Kaduna residents.
Observers described the move as a desperate attempt by a party already shamed by recent political setbacks to cut corners and create a false impression of public hostility toward Tinubu. Despite our efforts, the ADC has not responded to requests for comments.
If the allegation holds, it would fit what critics describe as the ADC’s low-self-esteem politics, a party seemingly unable to compete on ideas, reduced to campaigns of calumny and manufactured outrage. Rather than build a credible message, the ADC is accused of resorting to recycled footage and theatrical booing, a strategy that, if true, would expose a party more interested in deception than debate.
Such conduct would pass as a mere political mischief. Using old clips to fake a booing incident against the President would represent hate speech and coordinated cyberbullying, designed to incite hostility, mislead the public, and poison the political atmosphere. It would also put media outlets at risk of amplifying false footage as authentic.
Analysts and observers are urging journalists to verify any booing footage from Kaduna tomorrow before broadcasting it, warning that old clips could easily be misrepresented as new.
