The Senior Special Assistant to President Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi has called for a rational conversation on the minimum wage issue. The Geregu Power Plc has signed a massive deal with German company, Siemens Energy to expand the capacity of its existing power plants to generate additional 265MW of electricity as well as to build new lower turbines that will generate a fresh 500MW of electricity in what would form Geregu power plant 3. President Bola Tinubu has signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 earlier passed by the national assembly into law. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Sunday flagged off the construction of the iconic Lagos-Calabar coastal road project from the zero point at Victoria Island in Lagos. The President had earlier on commissioned the completed Apapa-Oworosonki express in Lagos, which was started under President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. The deposed Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has arrived in the ancient city Kano to resume duties as Emir of Kano. The Deputy Governor of Kano State has accused the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu of ordering the return of the deposed Emir. Following his dethronement by Gov. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 2.98% (year-on-year) in real terms in the first quarter of 2024. According to the Nigerian Gross Domestic Product Report for Q1 2024 released by the NBS, the GDP growth rate is higher than the 2.31% recorded in the first quarter of 2023 and lower than the fourth quarter of 2023, which was 3.46%.
