The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress winner of the Adamawa governorship election. The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa made the declaration on Sunday morning following the supplementary election held on Saturday. Binani becomes the first female governor in Nigeria after a tense electoral battle.

Ahmed Ododo, the anointed candidate of the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary in Kogi state. Ododo won the Kogi APC primary poll by 78,704 votes, according to the secretary of the committee, Patrick Obahiagbon, who made the announcement on Friday. Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state. Uzodimma was the only contende in the primary that took place on Friday in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
