The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress winner of the Adamawa governorship election. The Resident Electoral Commissioner for the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa made the declaration on Sunday morning following the supplementary election held on Saturday. Binani becomes the first female governor in Nigeria after a tense electoral battle.

Former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has emerged as the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa state.  Sylva polled 52,061 votes to defeat five other contenders to win the governorship ticket at the party’s primary election conducted on Friday and Saturday. Ahmed Ododo, the anointed candidate of the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary in Kogi state. Ododo won the Kogi APC primary poll by 78,704 votes, according to the secretary of the committee, Patrick Obahiagbon, who made the announcement on Friday. Abubakar Yahaya-Ashemogu received 1159 votes, Shaaibu Abubakar-Audu received 763 votes, and Salami Momodu received 1506 votes. Governor of Imo state, Hope Uzodinma has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state. Uzodimma was the only contende in the primary that took place on Friday in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
