Troops of the Nigerian Armed Forces have intensified operations nationwide, eliminating several terrorists, rescuing 67 kidnapped individuals, and arresting 94 criminal suspects over the past two weeks.
Major General Olatokunbo Bello, Director of Defence Media Operations, provided the update on Friday in Abuja, covering military activities conducted between November 3 and 14. He said soldiers recovered large caches of weapons and ammunition, including automatic rifles, machine guns, RPG tubes, improvised explosive device (IED) materials, and locally made arms, while destroying terrorist camps and supply bases.
In the North-East, troops of Operation Hadin Kai conducted offensive operations in Borno and Adamawa States, killing multiple Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters. Bello stated, “Troops also apprehended 45 informants, collaborators, and logistics supporters, and rescued one kidnapped victim.”
In the North-West, soldiers of Operation Fagge Yamma engaged terrorists across Sokoto, Zamfara, Niger, Katsina, Kebbi, and Kano States. The operation led to the deaths of several terrorists, the rescue of 13 kidnapped victims, and the arrest of two suspects, along with the recovery of weapons, vehicles, and livestock.
In the North-Central region, troops of Operation Enduring Peace responded to attacks in Plateau and Kaduna States, killing extremists, arresting 16 suspects, and rescuing five victims of kidnapping. A well-known criminal, Ibrahim Wakili, was apprehended in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State on November 9.
Bello further reported that Operation Whirl Stroke in Kogi, Kwara, Benue, Nasarawa, and Taraba States resulted in several criminals being killed, 10 suspects arrested, and 48 kidnapped victims rescued. In Nasarawa State, troops also captured two gunrunners and two extremist collaborators.
In the Niger Delta, Operation Delta Safe prevented oil theft valued at over N15.8 million, destroyed several illegal refining sites, and arrested nine suspected oil thieves in Bayelsa and Delta States.
In the South-East, soldiers of Operation Udo Ka maintained pressure on criminal groups in Imo, Enugu, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River States, killing one terrorist and arresting seven others.
Maj.-Gen. Bello commended the troops for their dedication and resilience, urging the media to continue sharing accurate and verified information to support national security efforts.
