In a shocking event early in the morning, Barrister Julius Abure, the respected National Chairman of Nigeria’s Labour Party, narrowly escaped an attempt on his life. It happened at his home in Abuja when a fire suddenly broke out, engulfing the property.
The fire was said to have started a few minutes midnight while Abure and the members of his family were asleep
The fire started around 1 a.m. and put Abure and his family in danger as they were asleep. Luckily, neighbors and security personnel acted quickly, alerting them and helping them escape through a window, avoiding a tragic outcome.
Firefighters arrived soon after and managed to put out the fire. The family was taken to a hospital where they’re currently being treated and are reported to be okay.
This scary incident has raised concerns about the safety of politicians in Nigeria. The Labour Party is calling for a thorough investigation to find out why the fire started and to make sure its members are safe in the future.
