The APC governorship candidate in Osun State, Ademola Oyetola Bamidele (AMBO), has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following the outcome of the recent governorship election in the state.
Speaking shortly after the meeting with the President, AMBO said the visit was primarily to discuss the situation in Osun and the need to maintain peace in the aftermath of the election.
He stressed that peace remained crucial, particularly because the issue at hand concerns the people of Osun State.
According to him, the APC is currently examining the results of the election and would communicate its position to the public after completing its review.
AMBO also said he intended to engage with members of his constituency and supporters to ensure that everyone remained on the same page.
“We need to be peaceful. It is important because it is about our people,” he said, while urging supporters to remain calm.
On reports of attacks involving some APC members, AMBO confirmed that there had been incidents of violence in his community, noting that about four or five people were reportedly attacked.
He said the security situation was being monitored and called for calm as the party continues to assess developments surrounding the election.
AMBO’s meeting with President Tinubu comes amid heightened political tension in Osun following the declaration of the governorship election results.
