The Federal Government has confirmed that the train services on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line are set to return this month, November. This was made known by the Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Sambo on Monday in Abuja. He said adequate security has been put in place to ensure the safety of passengers. The Minister, however, did not give any specific date for the resumption. Sambo said the ministry has learnt enough lessons from the attack in March which claimed the lives of several passengers leading to the suspension of train service on the Abuja-Kaduna route.

The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State have slammed Governor Nyesom Wike over his decision to appoint 200,000 persons as Special Assistants on Political Units. The Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment has debunked media reports, alleging bias in the payment of salaries of members of the Academic Staff Union of Nigeria (ASUU). The ministry further dismissed ASUU claims that their members were paid half their salary for the month of October.
